Experience
I received my Oral History training through one-on-one mentorship with a professional and experienced Oral Historian at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. I trained under her for two years while being paid to collect oral histories for Weber State Stewart Library's Special Collections Oral History program. In 2019, I was hired to conduct oral histories for the Hill Aerospace Museum in exchange for a Fellowship that year. That project continued into a freelance commission as the project expanded and continued after my graduation. In 2020, I was again hired by Weber State University to work on a project commissioned by the Utah Defense Alliance, documenting their rise from grass-roots movement to renowned defense alliance. During this time, I also participated in helping a colleague collect oral histories from the LGBTQ community as a part of her masters' thesis documenting the experience of the LGBTQ community in Northern Utah.In 2023, I officially founded an LLC called RootsBridge as I was commissioned for freelance work conducting community oral histories for the Ogden Union Station Museum. This museum wished to document the experiences of those working at the Union Station while it was still a train station, as well as the diverse communities which came to Ogden to work for the railroad.
