I am a certified (ACA) professional archivist who has worked for over 20 years in a broad range of archival and cultural heritage institutions and projects. Archival administration, oral history, collections management, historical research, digital preservation, classroom instruction, reference service and curation are areas that encompass my experience. Specializing in oral history and archives project management during all stages of its life cycle, I acknowledge that doing so requires special attention and decision-making, and also requires collaboration across disciplines and practitioner spaces. Additionally, I am: an experienced workshop and classroom instructor, and a certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL); Proactively engaged with professional communities and associations at the international, national, and local levels; As a volunteer, experienced and interested in serving organizations and programs focused on responding to food and water insecurity; Passionate about international and cultural exchange.

Experience

I'm a Certified Archivist with the Academy of Certified Archivists, since 2005; My graduate degree in History is from Wayne State University, where I also earned my Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration, with course focus and workshops in oral history interviewing; My BA in American Studies and History is from Case Western Reserve University and included oral history interviewing as methodology; I am a certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language and have taught EFL in the US and in China. For the past 20 years, I have worked as an archivist and educator, with oral history practice and digital preservation centered.
